DISPATCHES

In the “Dispatches” menu above, you’ll find some (mostly quite recent) reflections from RCND’s 29-year journey towards living out our essential values and our boundless belonging in the places Durham hurts most. Including year-end reports on our work of vigil ministry, reentry support, and restorative justice during the Covid-19 pandemic.

More and more, these narrations of who might be together seem inseparable from the hundreds of folks we’ve walked alongside year upon year. That is to say, you’ll find nothing here that can’t be (and hasn’t been) learned more deeply and stated more clearly through the simpler, subtler truths of bodies alongside bodies. And in a lot fewer words, too…

And I said to him
Are there answers to all of this?
And he said
The answer is in a story
and the story is being told.

And I said
But there is so much pain.
And she answered
Pain will happen.

Then I said
Will I ever find meaning?
And they said
You will find meaning
Where you give meaning."
